Fujifilm's cool new 3.2 metre LED Printer to debut at PacPrint

Fujifilm has confirmed that its new Acuity LED 3200R 3.2 metre UV wide format will be exhibited at PacPrint, next to its established 1.6 metre sibling, the Acuity LED 1600. “We’re very excited about the LED 3200 making it to PacPrint in time,” says Fujifilm Graphic Systems Division Manager Warren Hinder. “Releasing a new product is not just a question of flying it in; technical staff need to be trained, supply chain established and so on. It uses a new type of Uvijet ink because of the low-energy LED method of curing, which is much more environmentally friendly and economical than metal halide UV curing.” Fujifilm first introduced LED curing in the highly successful Acuity 1600 LED; approximately 900 units of the LED 1600 have been sold worldwide. Because LED UV uses lower energy and a different bandwidth of UV light, the inks used need to be matched to the spectrum. Fujifilm created the inkset for the 1600 and a new, more flexible Uvijet ‘LF’ inkset for the 3200R. The addition of LF flexible inks opens up the soft signage sector for printing onto fabrics used for backlit panels, exhibition displays, teardrop outdoor banners and pull-up portable displays. Soft signage applications will be showcased on the stand at PacPrint. Top-shelf specifications The 3200R has eight ink channels including white and a clear coat (available later in 2017). Top speed is 110m2 per hour in CMYK 2-pass only mode. In 4-colour mode, standard production is produced at six-pass 40m2 per hour. Using all colours (CMYK + Lc,Lm, W) draft mode is 60 m2 per hour at four-pass and standard production is at 20 m2 per hour with twelve passes. Backlit panel production is a particularly strong feature of the LED 3200R and there is even an on-board backlit display so actual viewing results can be proof-assessed during production. In this mode, sixteen passes are deployed so colours remain saturated and vibrant, with a production speed of 7.5 m2 per hour. Double without trouble Another unique feature is the ability to print two rolls simultaneously. Two rolls of media, each variable up to 1.52 metres in width, can be loaded to print either the same or two different jobs, effectively creating ‘three printers in one’ to increase the versatility of the LED 3200R. This dual roll capability is an excellent production advantage when 1.52 metre production is at its peak and switching back to full 3200mm width is fast and easy. Two RIP variations are available:- ColorGate Production Suite 9 or Caldera’s V10. “I invite anyone looking at the 3.2 metre wide-format roll-to-roll sector to book in for a demonstration on this remarkable machine,” says Hinder,” it ticks all the boxes for the environment, occupational safety, low power consumption, versatility and, as for the image quality; we’ll let that speak for itself at PacPrint – the colours are vibrant and very wide gamut.” Fujifilm Graphic Systems will be co-located with Fuji Xerox Australia on stand E10, one of the largest at the PacPrint show. www.fujifilm.com.au/graphic-systems Read More. . .

See it First at Pacprint 17 - Oppboga Outdoor Board - Stand E30

Oppboga Outdoor Board The only paper-based board that doesn't mind the weather. Outdoor signage is traditionally perceived to be printable only on plastics or film-laminated materials. It's time to recycle that notion - if only you could! Fluted plastics are not easily recyclable and most end up being incinerated or as landfill. Now there is the Swedish Oppboga Outdoor Board from Starleation - new for PacPrint. It's paper-pulp based, contains high percentage of already recucled fibre and is 100% recyclable once the campaign is over. It's even FSC certified. But wait, we hear you say? It's paper and will go soggy in the rain. NOT SO! See it at PacPrint - only from Starleaton on Stand E30 Read more here Read More. . .

Clean Up at PacPrint with Powerful RIDOF Wipes - Stand E57

Print in all its forms may well be much cleaner than it used to be – but you still can’t overstate the value of a convenient hand wipe to deal with sticky situations, says Ray Graham, Managing Director of Burg Design which is bringing a range of safe and effective wipes and cleaning products to PacPrint 2017. The company’s feature product is RIDOF Waterless Hand Wipes, which can clean even filthy hands within seconds, without the need for water, Graham says. “RIDOF wipes are probably the world’s safest and most effective way to clean your hands and remove stains. They’re made from all natural ingredients, so they’re environmentally friendly, and they don’t contain any of the petrochemicals or toxic solvents which can cause sore hands or rashes – in fact, they actually moisturise the skin as well as cleansing, helping to prevent and eliminate dermatitis conditions.” The wipes, which come in four sizes, are not only convenient, but save water and are extremely cost-effective. “We’ve also trialled them specifically for print applications, and our extensive testing shows that they easily remove all types of permanent printing ink; in fact, their performance is earning them plenty of compliments from the print service providers who are already using them,” he adds. As well as the hand wipes, Burg Design will showcase its new range of RIDOF Soda Wipes, which are ideal for cleaning everything from machine surfaces and work benches, to kitchen benchtops and cooktops, bathrooms and even shower screens. “Wipes might not seem that important, but RIDOF hand wipes and Soda cleaning wipes are effective, affordable and sustainable – and when it comes to creating safe, convenient and environmentally friendly workplaces, little things can make a big difference.” Burg Design will demonstrate its full range of products at PacPrint on Stand E57.Read More. . .

Fujifilm co-located with Fuji Xerox at PacPrint

Fujifilm Graphic Systems will be exhibiting alongside Fuji Xerox Australia on PacPrint’s second largest stand, stand E10, from May 23-26 at Melbourne’s Exhibition Centre. The theme is ‘Value from Innovation.’ Fujifilm Holdings Corporation of Japan is 75% owner of Fuji Xerox and 100% owner of Fujifilm. The two local subsidiaries have developed closer ties, with Fuji Xerox Australia now reselling Fujifilm’s Acuity range of flatbed and roll UV printers and inks. Graphic Systems Division Manager Warren Hinder notes: “It makes sense for us to exhibit in the same area as our sister company Fuji Xerox Australia – it’s also more convenient for our customers in both Australia and New Zealand since many have offset, digital cut-sheet and wide format capabilities and can see them all in close proximity.” Hinder emphasises that the Fujifilm area of stand E10 will be both distinct but also blended with Fuji Xerox’s: “We will have a major focus on our Superia and ZAC plate systems for cost-savings and lower chemical use in offset prepress. XMF automated workflow will have its own demonstration ‘pod’ where printshop owners can get hands-on with what we believe is the easiest-to-use and most advanced workflow for modern businesses.” New inkjet technologies As one of the world’s largest suppliers of inkjet inks, printheads and hardware, Fujifilm will showcase its impressive inkjet portfolio with working technology on-stand as well as in static print display areas. At the highest end of flatbed UV production is the Inca Digital range which, while the sheer size of these machines precludes live demonstrations, so Fujifilm will present a Pop-up Corrugated Display area (example pictured), with several Inca-printed samples on the floor. Fujifilm distribute the UK-manufactured Inca Digital presses, which are capable of up to 900 square metres per hour of high quality flatbed UV output. Visitors to the Fujifilm area of stand E10 are sure to find a friendly local face as the company will be bringing in account managers from all corners of Australia and also New Zealand. Hinder says, “All of the team are looking forward to PacPrint 2017 and meeting up with customers both old and new. We hope to demonstrate the true value of our innovations which, as a global company, are always developed with the environment and social responsibility in mind, along with lower costs of use that translate into better business propositions for our customers. We extend a warm welcome to all PacPrint visitors.” For more information, visit www.fujifilm.com.au Read More. . .
