Mutoh Brings Award-Winning Range to PacPrint & Visual Impact

06-Jun-2022

Mutoh Australia announced this week that it will be bringing a range of award-winning technologies to PacPrint, with plenty of interest not only for general print service providers, but particularly for wide-format, sign and display businesses, and even label and packaging businesses.

The Japanese-based manufacturer is a consistent winner in international technology awards and has a well-established reputation for outstanding build and superior print quality, and the company’s stand at the Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre in June will include some of its most decorated innovations.

“We’re very excited to be participating in PacPrint this year, and delighted we’ve been able to secure a number of our most popular and innovative eco-solvent printers, and roll-to-roll, rigid and direct-to-object UV printers, to demonstrate on stand,” says Mutoh Australia’s Managing Director, Russell Cavenagh.

Among the products on display will be the XpertJet XPJ-1682SR 1625mm eco-solvent printer, which took out a 2020 Product of the Year Award from the Printing United Alliance. This high speed, high quality printer is available in dual CMYK or CMYK, LC, LM, LK and Orange, featuring Mutoh’s new-generation MS41 large colour gamut eco-solvent inks, which have been GreenGuard gold-certified.

“The combination of printer and these specially developed inks means printers can achieve a wide colour gamut and vibrant, high-density output on a wide range of coated and uncoated substrates, producing products for both indoor and outdoor use,” Russell explains.

“With low VOC emissions and delivered in foil packs for the printer’s re-usable ink pack cases, they provide the ultimate in both print performance and sustainability.”

Fellow award winner, the XpertJet XPJ-661UF, will also be on stand, providing impressive flexibility from a small-format, direct-to-object desktop UV flatbed printer.

“This is a desktop UV machine – A2+– but it offers big advantages, with the ability to produce an almost endless variety of trophy, personalised products, from braille signs, to promotional items and gifts, occasional products, name badges and plates, awards, and much more,” Russell says.

“These high-margin, customised products can make a huge contribution to the profitability of a business. Plus, it gives you a number of new and exciting options to help build business with existing customers, and attract new customers through the door.”

For those who want the flexibility to print to both roll-fed and rigid substrates, Russell says another feature of the show, the 1625mm ValueJet VJ-1638UH – which took out a PUA 2020 Product of the Year Award for the sixth year running – is a versatile solution.

“This is a dual LED, hybrid UV printer which can be supplied as CMYK or CMYK with White and Varnish, and again uses GREENGUARD Gold Certified INKS,” he explains.

The Mutoh ValueCut VC2-1300

“You can print roll-to-roll for vinyl and banner products, or print directly onto rigid substrates like Corflute or composite panels up to 15mm thick and 15 kilograms in weight. Print is delivered dry, in resolutions of up to 1440 x 1440 dpi, and with the options of white and varnish, expanding the flexibility even further.

“It’s the ideal output solution for high quality graphics like in-store promotional prints or decorator applications, fine art prints, packaging samples and more – and because Mutoh’s proprietary inks are low-odour, non-HAP and GREENGUARD Gold Certified, they’re suitable for all kinds of indoor applications including offices, classrooms and healthcare environments.”

Also in the ValueJet range, and also of interest to packaging printers, will be the VJ-628MP and VJ-1628MH, both of which will be featured on the Mutoh PacPrint stand.

“These printers are configured with Mutoh’s exclusive MP31 ink, which enables printing directly to original packaging substrates with CMYK, LC, LM, LK +White while maintaining optimal surface quality,” Russell explains. “This makes them ideal for package prototyping and proofing on cardboard and films, or customised solutions for high-end applications.”

Complementing the print devices, Mutoh will be showing one of its cutting solutions – the VC2-1300, a 1320mm wide vinyl cutter with ‘best in class’ speed and blade pressure. “This cutter is equipped with optical sensors for registration mark detection as standard, so quality and precision is assured,” Russell says.

“The Mutoh Australia team is really looking forward to reconnecting with our customers and industry friends, and helping them identify opportunities for success in these challenging but exciting times.”

Mutoh Australia will be on Stand C12 at the Melbourne show, which will run at the MCEC from Tuesday 28 June through to Friday 1 July 2022. Click here to register for the show, or go to www.pacprint.com.au for more information.
